DISTRICT 2 REPRESENTATIVE
Juliah Sanford is the Adult Education Program Assistant for Northeast Alabama Community College. The adult education program has GED, English as a Second Language (ESL), Reading, and Career Pathways classes across DeKalb, Jackson, and Marshall Counties. Juliah wears many hats in adult education, but a big part of her job is to help adult education students make the transition to college. She assists students with the college admission process, applying for financial aid, and declaring a major. Juliah gives college and career presentations at various class sites and organizes campus tours at least twice a year. Before she got the position of full-time program assistant, she worked in both GED and elementary classrooms.
Juliah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Athens State University and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama. She is originally from Scottsboro, Alabama but now happily resides in Rising Fawn, Georgia with her husband Joseph.
On the ALAPCAE Board, Juliah serves on three committees: evaluations, publications, and program. As the District 2 Representative, she welcomes any suggestions or questions regarding ALAPCAE from the constituents of this region. Mrs. Sanford is honored to serve on the ALAPCAE Board and work with such amazing adult education administrators and teachers.
